Join CEJA in the Capitol August 16th!

On August 16th, community residents from across California will converge in Sacramento and send a strong message to decision-makers that all communities need clean energy, clean air, and good jobs. We are bringing together advocates, community-based organizations and residents from environmental justice communities across California for some exciting movement-building and advocacy opportunities:

  • A morning panel with movement and clean energy leaders to discuss building a strong statewide force for clean energy and good jobs in low-income communities of color. Speakers include: Bill Gallegos, Executive Director of Communities for a Better Environment; Elsa Barboza, Campaign Director at SCOPE LA; and Jihan Gearon, Executive Director at Black Mesa Water Coalition. The panel will take place from 9 – 10 am on Thursday August 16that the Westminster Presbyterian Church on N Street.
  • A noon rally in support of CEJA’s “Solar for All” bill and equitable clean energy policies on the state’s Capital steps, featuring Assemblymember Paul Fong, spoken word artists, exciting special guests, and community members.

These events are free and open to the public! If you would like to join us, please RSVP by emailing or calling CEJA Co-Coordinator Amy Vanderwarker, avanderwarker@ceja.org
