Dear Friends,
I am thrilled to announce that CEJA’s Board of Directors has hired Denise Glaze as its Co-Executive Director for Operations & Development. She will start her new position on July 1, 2024.
The Board is proud and delighted that Denise will be at the helm of CEJA, especially at this time of unprecedented political and corporate threats to environmental health and social justice. Congratulations to all of us!
As many of you know, Denise is a life-long advocate for justice who currently works as CEJA’s Development Director. In that capacity, she oversees CEJA’s fundraising and serves on its Management Team. In 2021-22, Denise was one of CEJA’s Interim Co-Executive Directors, helping guide the organization through a difficult period of transition. She has spent the past two decades working in multiracial social justice movement spaces as an organizer, advocate and fundraiser. She is dedicated to transformative justice and advancing grassroots solutions to systems change. Denise is also a powerful advocate of the movement for collective liberation from capitalism and white supremacy.
What stands out about Denise isn’t just her impressive professional accomplishments, but her extraordinary commitment to the world CEJA envisions, where all Californians – particularly those most historically impacted by environmental injustice co-govern local regenerative economies that ensure collective prosperity and harmony with the natural world.
CEJA’s Board of Directors identified Denise as our new Co-Executive Director for Operations & Development, through an extensive national search for our new leaders. On June 20, we will announce our Co-Executive Director of Programs. Stay tuned!
Warmly,
Antonio Diaz
CEJA Board Chair
